MAHE Achieves Global Recognition with Top Ranking for Gender Equality in THE Impact Rankings 2026
Manipal Academy of Higher Education has secured the No. 1 global rank for Gender Equality in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026 while significantly improving its rankings in Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, and Global Partnerships. The achievement reinforces MAHE's global leadership in sustainable development, research, education, and societal impact.
The latest rankings recognise MAHE's sustained commitment to excellence in research, teaching, outreach, and institutional stewardship aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The institution registered its most significant achievement by securing the No. 1 global rank for SDG 5 – Gender Equality, making a remarkable leap from Rank 11 in the previous edition.
MAHE also recorded a major improvement in SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, securing Rank 5 globally after advancing from Rank 74 in the 2025 rankings. The institution continued its strong upward trajectory in SDG 4 – Quality Education, rising to Rank 23 from Rank 43, while making substantial progress in SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals by moving from the 601–800 band to Rank 93 globally.

Speaking on the achievement, Dr. Sharath K. Rao, Vice Chancellor of MAHE, said the institution's performance in the THE Impact Rankings 2026 demonstrates its unwavering commitment to creating meaningful societal impact through education, research, healthcare, and community engagement. He stated that securing the No. 1 global rank for Gender Equality and achieving a top-five global position in Good Health and Well-being reflect the collective efforts of the university's faculty members, researchers, students, healthcare professionals, and partners.
